Ballerinas Work
Ballerinas, and all professional dancers, must be able to learn complex dance movement and use it to express a theme or mood.
They spend long days training, auditioning for roles, rehearsing and performing, working closely with choreographers, musicians and other dancers to perfect their craft. A ballerina may be a member of a dance company and perform different roles throughout the year, or they may be a freelancer who makes guest appearances with other companies. Most companies hold performances and rehearsals six days per week during the performance season, and many companies spend several weeks per year traveling.
